Introduction

History, culture, art and nature make Tenuta di Artimino a place of timeless Tuscan beauty. Originally built in 1596 as a large hunting lodge, Tenuta di Artimino embodies the noblest Tuscan way of life, surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves and ancient trees. This impressive residence boasts a rich history from the Medici noble family memories, to precious recollections from historic personalities such as Leonardo da Vinci, who designed the rotisserie that can still be admired today, and Galileo Galilei who stayed here, invited in 1608 by Ferdinando I De Medici to instruct his son Cosimo in mathematics. Representing the link between the various land holdings of the Medici family, the majestic Medici Villa La Ferdinanda at Tenuta di Artimino is today recognized as Unesco World Heritage Site. On site Biagio Pignatta restaurant uses seasonal products grown on the estate and as a producer of their own DOC wines, it's an ideal spot to indulge after a day out exploring or relaxing in the large pool and garden.
